WoWzzers, Getting Mobile in the classroom!

I have been working to create a wiki showing the future of the classrooms using Smartphones. within this page you can watch videos that show the possibilities of the future as well as some of the actual works already set and altering the traditional path of education. This gave me an opportunity to fully create my own wiki and create a page as I wished. It was a good challenge but not as difficult as I thought. The previous work I did with the groups earlier in the semester prepared me to a level of comfort working with the wiki. Click the picture below to be directed to my wiki.

Weba- Weba- Website!

I have been working this semester working on many different aspects to assist with my teacher/parent or guardian/student relationship. I have created a website to test my skills that I have learned throughout this course on the site.

So long spiral bound grade books!

Engrade is quite the remarkable tool. The ease of use alone makes it the hands down choice in my mind for grading. The use of an electronic grading system give the teachers an opportunity to incorporate the grades instantaneously to a class newsletter that parents may have access to view. Offering the parents the opportunity to know when tests and assignments are due. With the ease of the electronic grade book all of the steps above can be carried out within 5 minutes at the end of each school day. Obviously figuring that each home has a computer and internet. For other homes printout of all the information can be constructed and sent home. Either can be set up at the beginning of each year.

Aren't Wikis enough? Not for Google!

As my experience has increased with Google Tools and knowledge of all the assistance they offer grows, I am looking forward to shaping that information into useful classroom organization and creation. As for the side-wiki, I just started the process this past week and I now find myself reading the information on that before even looking at the site.
Take a look at a screen shot of my sidewiki below!

NETS-S? Oh now?

I feel as though the National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S) are on the horizon for teachers to build their repertoire to assist the students in such learning. At this point however, I feel as though it is being over-shadowed by Response To Intervention (RtI) as well as concerns with the school budget. Who is missing out because of such concerns? The student...

Let's see what happens if you give a teacher a mouse...(Sometimes that's all it takes!)
