WoWzzers, Getting Mobile in the classroom!
I have been working to create a wiki showing the future of the classrooms using Smartphones. within this page you can watch videos that show the possibilities of the future as well as some of the actual works already set and altering the traditional path of education. This gave me an opportunity to fully create my own wiki and create a page as I wished. It was a good challenge but not as difficult as I thought. The previous work I did with the groups earlier in the semester prepared me to a level of comfort working with the wiki. Click the picture below to be directed to my wiki.

Weba- Weba- Website!
I have been working this semester working on many different aspects to assist with my teacher/parent or guardian/student relationship. I have created a website to test my skills that I have learned throughout this course on the site.

So long spiral bound grade books!
Engrade is quite the remarkable tool. The ease of use alone makes it the hands down choice in my mind for grading. The use of an electronic grading system give the teachers an opportunity to incorporate the grades instantaneously to a class newsletter that parents may have access to view. Offering the parents the opportunity to know when tests and assignments are due. With the ease of the electronic grade book all of the steps above can be carried out within 5 minutes at the end of each school day. Obviously figuring that each home has a computer and internet. For other homes printout of all the information can be constructed and sent home. Either can be set up at the beginning of each year.
A sample of my Engrade site that I set up. Showing grades, projects, and class averages for my eight student.

Aren't Wikis enough? Not for Google!
As my experience has increased with Google Tools and knowledge of all the assistance they offer grows, I am looking forward to shaping that information into useful classroom organization and creation. As for the side-wiki, I just started the process this past week and I now find myself reading the information on that before even looking at the site.

NETS-S? Oh now?
I feel as though the National Educational Technology Standards for Students (NETS-S) are on the horizon for teachers to build their repertoire to assist the students in such learning. At this point however, I feel as though it is being over-shadowed by Response To Intervention (RtI) as well as concerns with the school budget. Who is missing out because of such concerns? The student...

Net Generation, Generation Y, Millenial-Whoever-They are digital students!
The avid techies that have been formed from this generation are developing their own knowledge daily. As adults and educators the importance to learn how to integrate the skills of this generation is pivotal.
Follow this link to an interesting video that depicts this message well. Play the video "Dive Into the Future" video, right on the home page at the top. At the 3:32 mark there is a comment that I didn't agree with however.
A father makes a comment regarding his child's ability to work through the learning of technology. He states that he would just "step back and let his child go to it." I don't feel that this is the proper way to educate our children. We need to show kids they they can be the teachers to us and that learning is a continuous part of life.

Outside of School- They are already there!
What are the students of the Net Generation feeling? As the video below explains the students are feeling that there is a miscue in the direction of education. The students feel that teachers are to focused on test and not aware of the students best abilities to express themselves. The students also want to have the opportunity to collaborate with peers as they will in the future, post-school.
Computer Literacy + Information Literacy= Integration Literacy!
The video below shows how computer literacy and information literacy can become integration literacy. Another fantastic part of this video is the co-teaching aspect. Both teachers take part in this project and their working together gives the students a great picture of adults working together fluently.
Assignment-A1
I enjoyed how this assignment integrated the many different sites I have been a part of to create in just the last couple weeks. Most of the sites being sites that I have been unfamiliar with such as Picasion, WDYDWYD, Twitter, our group wiki- Teachers Tool Kit, and this blog School Days. All of which I am feeling more comfortable with operating. As I am traversing the many different bits of technology I am envisioning the uses within the classroom.

Education 2.0 Video
I would have to agree with Mark Prensky regarding the motivation of students to learn about their own interest away from school. By using the web and the seemingly never ending vault of information, students have the opportunity to expand their mind.
Multitask-it
As I was reading through the "Portrait of a Digital Native" article, I had to laugh a bit because this was the screen I was reading from.
Wiki-what?
Making my way through the labyrinth of wiki-world. It's working out pretty well, with more time I know my confidence will grow.
One Down
I just finished all of my uploading and file sharing. Seemed pretty straight forward, unless I am missing something huge. If I am please someone give me a heads up, Thanks in advance. Blogging, not so bad, I am one of those people who have a facebook to look at the pictures. So having to actually type it out is new and actually pretty fun.
